The California Taxpayers Union (CTU) is a non-profit public policy agency focused on raising the awareness of voters about the profligate spending, confiscatory taxation and unsustainable public pension debt facing cities across our state. We are building a statewide network for qualifying and passing ballot initiatives that will bring tax relief to beleaguered citizens and businesses, and reduce the unsustainable costs and debt of local and state government. Our organization is comprised of individuals, business owners and professionals who understand that uncontrolled growth in the size and cost of local and State government threatens California’s future; who understand that our current legislative process is broken; and who acknowledge that Californians have no choice but to employ the local and state initiative process to reduce the size of government and restore fiscal sanity and the economic promise of California. If we act now, we can change the political debate and create a genuine consensus for fiscal sanity, smaller government and economic prosperity in our Golden State.
